I have chosen to audaciously believe that who I actually am, is who the world actually needs. And I think you should believe that too. You are a masterpiece and I mean that with every ounce of myself. We can hear that all the time, but it’s true and you are and I hope today is the day that this idea really sinks into your soul.
In prayer today, I feel like God prompted me to consider what I believe I have been created for. Among so many things, His answer today: to show others that God created them in his perfection–each person uniquely crafted by the love of a Father. It both humors, excites, and saddens me when I hear people go on about their passions, with the assumption that they are common desires, but the more people you speak to, the more you realize how varied each of our deep desires are. My challenge for you today is to pray about what God has written on your heart. He is the author of our souls and I believe he calls us to fight against the current of the world and truly Be. Actually be as you were called to be–to the glory of God.
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Romans 12:6-8
And pair these things with your God-given interests, hobbies, and skills. The world needs you, as you actually are, as you were actually made. The Spirit of God is alive in you. Those twice-born in Jesus are birthed with new passions and interests, gifted to you from God himself.
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10
